York squad is complete - Walker

York City

York City manager Colin Walker has said he is not planning to make any more signings despite using three trialists in their opening pre-season game.

Walker used 22 players in their match against Tadcaster Albion but he told BBC Radio York the trio were making up the numbers.

"They acquitted themselves but I don't think we're going to take any of them any further.

"The squad is still complete unless somebody really special comes along."

Walker said he was pleased with the performance of all the players in the match which included all of his summer signings apart from Daniel McBreen, who has recently had surgery.

The players got 45 minutes and now we're getting ready for Friday against Leeds

Walker said: "I think we're just saving him a little bit because he's only just three or four weeks from having a knee operation, everything's fine, he's training so we're just looking after him."

The manager admitted the game against Tadcaster Albion did come a bit too soon after the squad returned to training from the summer break but he said it benefited both clubs.

"It was a bit early to be fair but we did promise Tadcaster that we'd come and play them and help them raise some money.

"Somebody mentioned they raised over one thousand pounds so it was a job well done.
