Yeovil Town assistant Nathan Jones to play on

Yeovil Town assistant manager Nathan Jones, who recently turned 37, intends to carry on playing first-team football this season.

Defender Jones made 19 appearances for the Glovers during 2009-10 and is ready to be summoned into action again.

"With the size of our squad I won't be able to call it a day but I will be concentrating more on the coaching," the Welshman told BBC Somerset.

"I'll be ready but I envisage that it will be far less than last season."

Jones is looking forward to taking part in pre-season training, which starts on 1 July at Huish Park.

"What better life is there? I could be sat at home doing nothing or sat in an office planning pre-season," he said.

"But actually doing it and staying fit is the best part of the job. Our staff do long hours but it's good to be involved with a team that's ambitious, hard working and very professional."
