Yeovil goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall says Glovers fans should be constructive when his team-mates deserve criticism.
Mildenhall was involved in a minor altercation with a few fans during the 3-0 defeat against Crewe on Saturday.
"There were a couple of people I heard that were being negative continuously," the 29-year-old told BBC Somerset.
"Supporters can be frustrated. When we don't perform they're entitled to have their say but some of the things I heard aren't going to benefit anybody."
Yeovil were booed off the pitch at the end of a disappointing second half at Huish Park, but Mildenhall hopes that the Glovers' support can lift them when they are under-performing.
"People can criticise but it needs to be positive," he said.
"We're all trying to do the same thing, trying to pull in the same direction, and I just took exception to a couple of things that were directed to the team as a whole.
"If people are going to make those sort of comments, they'd be better off staying away than they would be coming here and being so negative."
