Wycombe defender Leon Johnson has knee operation

Johnson has only played 45 minutes of reserve-team football since November

Wycombe Wanderers defender Leon Johnson will be out of action for at least a month after having surgery on his knee.

The 28-year-old has not featured since injuring his hip in the 4-4 FA Cup draw with Brighton in November.

Manager Gary Waddock told the club's official website: "The doctors say it may take six weeks, but Johnno's a good healer so we're hoping it will be four.

"He's doing rehab already, but we won't rush him back because you run the risk of making the problem worse."

Meanwhile, Chairboys midfielder Matt Bloomfield has returned to full training after treatment on a knee injury.
