Mark Jones has struggled with injury since making his Wales debut
Wales international midfielder Mark Jones is to re-sign for Wrexham after one year away from the Racecourse.
The 25-year-old will undertake his medical on his return from holiday later this month and is set to sign a one-year deal at the non-league club.
Jones left Wrexham for Rochdale in the summer of 2008 but injury restricted him to just nine league games.
"We have been talking to Mark for a little while," Wrexham manager Dean Saunders told the club website.
The twice-capped Welshman was released by Rochdale in May and Saunders has confirmed: "He will be signing on the dotted line a little later in the summer."
Jones graduated through the Wrexham academy as a trainee and went on to play almost 150 times for the north Wales club.
He became a fans favourite at his home-town club after scoring a number of stunning wonder-goals during Wrexham's 2005/06 season.
"It's a one-year deal, but if we can get Mark back to playing like I know he can, then he will a big asset to this club for many years to come," Saunders added.
Jones and fellow former Wales international Gareth Taylor are Wrexham boss Dean Saunders' first summer signings.
