Mark Jones has earned several international call-ups for Wales
Rochdale are close to finalising terms with ex-Wrexham midfielder Mark Jones after a successful trial at the club.
The 25-year-old Welsh international is in the process of signing a 12-month deal, with the option of an extra year.
Following Wrexham's relegation, Jones declared his intention to leave and was released on a free.
Dale are in the process of trying to gain international clearance but this is unlikely to go through in time for Saturday's home date with Barnet.
Jones, who joined Wrexham as a trainee in 2002, made his debut in the 2002/03 season for the Dragons. But he had to wait another two seasons before establishing himself as a first-team player.
Jones, who is known for scoring spectacular long-range goals, made his senior Wales debut in 2006 after several Under-21 appearances and has won two full caps.
