Barnard began his career as a trainee with Millwall

Weymouth have completed the permanent free signing of goalkeeper Richard Barnard on a season-long deal.

The 27-year-old former Aldershot man had been on the Terras books and had helped them to seven points in three Blue Square Premier games.

"I am very happy indeed that Richard has signed," Terras' manager John Hollins told the Dorset Echo.

"I have known him for a while and always knew what he was capable of and he has come in and been magnificent."

Barnard will be hoping to continue his impressive form when Weymouth face Lewes on Saturday.
