West Bromwich Albion have released Portuguese midfielder Filipe Teixeira, choosing not to take up the option of keeping him for another year.
Teixeira joined the Baggies in July 2007 but his career at The Hawthorns never really recovered from a serious knee injury in March 2008.
He eventually returned to action but only as a fringe player and was loaned to Barnsley last season.
The 32-year-old scored five goals for the Baggies in 62 appearances.
Albion's sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth said: "Filipe is a good pro and gave everything for Albion.
"He had a fantastic first season with the club in the Championship until he got injured.
"After that it was difficult for him to get a run in the team. We'd like to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."
