West Bromwich Albion midfielder Filipe Teixeira is making good progress following knee surgery.
Teixeira, 27, missed the last two months of the Baggies' Championship promotion season after injuring his knee against Plymouth in March.
He has been recovering at his former club Academica de Coimbra in Portugal and will return to England next week.
Albion physio Richie Rawlins said: "The operation was a success and the knee is a lot stronger."
West Brom's players report back for training on Thursday before heading off to Holland and Germany on a pre-season tour but Teixeira will remain in England for treatment.
"There have been no set-backs, he is progressing really well and everything is going according to plan, " Rawlins added.
Jonathan Greening and Roman Bednar will both be fit to begin pre-season training on Thursday after both players underwent hernia operations during the summer break.
