West Brom's Slovakian international Marek Cech says he is starting to enjoy football in England after gaining a regular starting place.
Cech, 26, started only three Premier League games last season after being signed by Tony Mowbray in summer 2008.
But this season he has been a regular and scored his first two Albion goals against Plymouth in September.
Cech told BBC WM: "I feel better on the field, and I'm starting to enjoy the football here in England."
He added: "In the beginning I tried to leave the club because I was unhappy here, because I didn't have too many opportunities to play. For me, as an international player, it is important to play, and that's why I tried to change club.
"I think nobody wants to sit on the bench and only see the football from the side. Everybody wants to play because on the field you are selling your value and enjoying everything."
Cech admits that the demands of the Championship have surprised him.
"If I wasn't seeing it for myself I would never believe it, but I need to agree that it's a very tough league," he said.
"It can compare with the Spanish, Italian or Portuguese leagues as well, the second League is not so technically good but it is physically strong."
