Stoke City have allowed centre-back Andrew Davies to join Walsall for a one-month loan spell.
The 25-year old has played no first-team football since ending his loan at Sheffield United last November.
The former England under-21 defender has had spells at Middlesbrough and Southampton, but his career has been plagued by serious injuries.
"I'm really pleased to be here and have the opportunity to play matches," Davies told the club's website.
"It's been a long, hard time on the sidelines at Stoke, so to get the chance of regular action here is something that I'm looking forward to.
"I'd like to think I can put my higher level experience to good use here straight away and make a difference."
Davies will come straight into contention for the Saddlers' home game with Exeter City on Saturday, assuming he receives Premier League clearance.
"I'd describe myself as an old-school, no-nonsense centre-back who likes to get stuck in and make his mark," he noted.
"I've spoken to a few people about the club and I have had some very positive feedback. The training ground and facilities here are fantastic."
