Blackman's only professional appearances were last August

AFC Wimbledon have signed former Bristol City defender Andre Blackman.

The 19-year-old, who has had trials at Leicester and Southend, was released by the Robins for off-field incidents after just two League Cup appearances.

Boss Terry Brown told the club website: "I do believe that this particular young man has all the credentials to progress to a much higher level.

"His career has been blighted with one or two off-pitch incidents that young people can so easily get dragged into."

He added: "Becoming part of our first-team set-up will give him the impetus he needs into not only getting his career back on track, but to allow him to enjoy his football again and express himself in an environment where he can excel.

"We will be looking to exploit Andre's pace and technical ability on the ball and encouraging him to push forward."
