Bristol City have signed former Portsmouth defender Andre Blackman.
The 18-year-old left-back started his career at Arsenal and then linked up with Tottenham before spending two seasons on the books at Pompey.
"He's a good prospect. He's very quick and I'm very excited about that one," City manager Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol.
Blackman has signed a two-year deal and will provide cover for first-choice left-back Jamie McAllister.
When the Scotland international was injured last season, City were forced to fill the gap with midfielder Cole Skuse or centre-back Liam Fontaine.
"He wanted to be nearer the first team than he was at Portsmouth and we managed to convince him we were the club," added Johnson.
"He has had ankle problems but we've got it sorted out now.
"We're looking forward to him coming back as a trainer and playing games, probably at the beginning of August."
