Goalkeeper Jamie Young signs new Aldershot Town deal
Young got his chance when Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz was suspended
Aldershot Town goalkeeper Jamie Young has signed a new one-year contract with the League Two side.
Shots boss Kevin Dillon signed the 24-year-old Australian in March after his release by Wycombe.
He told BBC Surrey: "I had a few options but I've really enjoyed the time I've spent with the club and everything that's happened.
"I was really pleased with the end of my season and I was more than happy to sign it."
He added: "Kevin gave me an indication of what's going to happen for next season and the things he's looking to do.
"It's been a fantastic year for the club and everybody and as a player you want to be involved in things like that."
Young is set to be Aldershot's first choice goalkeeper next season after Dillon released Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz and looks set to use youngster Jordan Clement as back-up.
Young said: "The way I look at it is if I don't perform the manager will go and get somebody else if he needs to.
"If you don't perform you get replaced so I'm under no illusions that it's going to be an easy ride."
