Showunmi has nine goals since joining Tranmere in July 2010
Tranmere striker Enoch Showunmi says the club have made great progress in the last two months despite recent defeats by Peterborough and Brentford.
Rovers have pulled seven points clear of the drop zone after collecting 15 points from their last 10 league games.
"It shows how far we've come as a team that we're very disappointed we've come away with no points in our last two games," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"In the last couple of games we should have picked up some points."
Showunmi added: "If we're not going to win games, then at least we should be picking up at least a point.
"It shows we've got more to work on as a team, but it also shows how far we've come as a team in the last couple of months."
Tranmere are back at Prenton Park on Saturday when they entertain Yeovil, who are just four points behind Rovers and Showunmi is confident they can end their current run of poor results.
"It's vitally important that we don't get more back-to-back defeats," said the former Leeds striker.
"The games are coming thick and fast and we need to forget about Tuesday's game and put it behind us and work on the Yeovil game.
"If we keep playing the way we are, then we'll win more games than we lose."
