Tranmere Rovers defender Marlon Broomes has handed in a transfer request at the League One club.

Broomes, 33, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has struggled with injury and sighted the need for future stability for his request.

"In the present climate, at the end of the season there ends up being hundreds of players without clubs," said Rovers manager Les Parry.

"He wants to secure a longer contract before the end of the season."
