Tranmere have suffered a blow in their battle against relegation with the news that defender Ian Goodison has picked up a medial knee ligament injury.
The 38-year-old will be out for the next few weeks, while fellow defender Marlon Broomes has a calf problem.
"The curse of the centre-halves has hit us once again," said manager Les Parry.
"We've lost Ian and Marlon, together with Max Blanchard and Tim Cathalina and it doesn't do us any favours, but we've just got to get on with it."
All four will miss Saturday's trip to MK Dons, as Rovers look to bounce back from conceding two late goals in last week's 3-3 draw with Walsall.
Midfielder Joss Labadie, 20, says the way to erase the memory of the result behind them is to perform well in Buckinghamshire.

"The boys are gutted we threw away a two-goal lead with 10 minutes to go against Walsall," Labadie told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We all know what we've got to do when we go down to MK Dons and we need to put that right.
"I know they started the season very well, but we've played them once already and beat them 4-2.
"We put in a good performance that day, so we know we can beat them.
"We'll be going down there and looking to get three points once again."
