Andy Butler grabbed a last-gasp goal as Walsall earned a point at Tranmere.
The Saddlers, under caretaker boss Dean Smith for the first time, went ahead when Matt Richards lashed the ball in.
Rovers turned it round through a Richards own goal, Aaron Cresswell's 20-yard free-kick and a fine finish from Lateef Elford-Alliyu.
Jon Macken's deflected effort six minutes from time gave the visitors hope, before he turned provider for Butler to head home in the 94th minute.
Tranmere manager Les Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside: "We've got to learn how to close games up when we're winning 3-1 and you can't let it slip.
"The game became too open at 3-1 and we needed to close it down, stop them playing and just to win the game.
"Last week we closed the game off well in the last three or four minutes, this week we didn't."
