Tranmere captain Thomas-Moore backs Rovers to escape
Thmoas-Moore scored a penalty in the 2-0 win over Millwall last week
The prospect of Tranmere Rovers playing in League Two is 'unthinkable', according to captain Ian Thomas-Moore.
But Rovers face Stockport on Saturday knowing their future is out of their hands. If Exeter and Gillingham win, Tranmere will go down.
"For us to go into League Two would be a travesty really," Thomas-Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"This club belongs in this division or even higher as a few years ago we were regulars in the Championship.
He added: "I'm sure if everyone pulls in the right direction on Saturday, I think we'll be ok. We've got to wait on other results and our destiny isn't in our own hands.
"We've just got to go into the game and win it. Hopefully everything else will take care of itself."
Rovers gave themselves a fighting chance of survival by beating promotion hopefuls Millwall 2-0 at Prenton Park last Saturday.
The captain hopes his side can be positive from the first whistle this week and take the initiative.
"I think a lot of times this season when we've gone a goal down we've struggled, so hopefully that doesn't happen," Thomas-Moore continued.
"If we score first I think we'll be OK but I just hope we don't concede first. That's been a problem for us this season."
