Survival my only concern - Tranmere boss Les Parry
Les Parry has been Tranmere's physiotherapist since 1993
Tranmere boss Les Parry says his sole task is to get Rovers out of relegation trouble after he was given the job until the end of the season.
Rovers are currently second from bottom in League One, five points from safety.
"We're looking at nothing but staying in the division," the physio-turned-manager told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"Between now and the end of the season we'll no doubt have fluctuations in form but the overall pattern has to be one of improvement."
Parry continued: "If we can win the majority of our home games and pick bits up away from home we'll be OK.
"I'd love to be standing here just after Easter and be in mid-table being a lot safer than we are now."
The latest manager at Prenton Park could not hide his pride at getting the job on a full-time.
"When I'm old a decrepit in a couple years time, sitting in my little bath chair or walking around on my zimmer, I'll be able to look up at the board in the Tranmere suite and and see my name up there," he added.
"I would have never expected that to be honest."
While Parry has been caretaker at Prenton Park, he has had former Tranmere players Wayne Alison and Shaun Garnett as part of his backroom staff.
And Allison says he had no hesitations about returning to Rovers.
"It's a good club," said the former striker. "Everybody likes the club and you always think of it fondly.
"No matter where I've been you always look for the Tranmere results and I had no hesitation when Les rung and asked to give him a hand.
"We want the record to be better. We're always striding make things better and we don't rest on any laurels.
"We're not in a position to as we are still in the bottom four. Once we are out of the bottom four, we can get some sort of respectability, mid-table or above.
"Safety is the key and staying in the division is paramount and getting up the league is essential."
