Edds (right) is one of only two new arrivals at Tranmere
Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore has said he is hopeful of adding to his squad by the end of the week.
Gareth Edds and Edrissa Sonko have been the only new arrivals at Prenton Park so far, despite the club releasing a number of players in the close season.
Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside it has been hard to find the right players.
"There hasn't been an awful lot of quality about and everyone is after the same players, hopefully by Saturday we'll have one or two more recruits."
Saturday sees Tranmere begin their pre-season programme with a friendly match against Mersey neighbours Liverpool at Prenton Park.
It is the first meeting between the two sides since their FA Cup quarter-final tie in 2001.
And Moore added that he is looking forward to facing Rafa Benitez's side: "Everyone wants to play and I want to play to be fair.
"Rafa will bring the strongest side that he needs to but whoever plays, they play for Liverpool, so they're going to be good players and it will be a tough game that's for sure."
The match at Prenton Park is now a complete sell-out.
