Tranmere Rovers have signed midfielder Gareth Edds on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old Australian, who can also play in defence, was released by MK Dons at the end of last season.
He started his career in England as a trainee at Nottingham Forest before enjoying spells at Swindon, Bradford City and latterly MK Dons.
"Tranmere is a fantastic club with a lot of history, they're a club I wanted to come to and want to play for," Edds told BBC Radio Merseyside.
In his time at MK Dons, Edds made 167 appearances, scoring 12 goals.
He was part of the squad that won promotion from League Two last season, winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy along the way.
Edds added that promotion into the Championship with Tranmere is now his target.
"They have a strong squad, a squad that can challenge and that's what we'll be looking to do and hopefully getting into the play-offs."
