Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has signed a new two-year deal to keep him at the club until the summer of 2010.
The former Rovers striker returned to Prenton Park in June 2006 following managerial spells at Rotherham United and Oldham Athletic.
"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to take the club forward," Moore told Tranmere's website.
"It means a lot to me that I have the chance to be the one who guides the club back into the Championship."
Moore was assistant to John King in the 1990s and made almost 300 appearances for Rovers in the 1970s and 1980s.
Tranmere have finished in the top half of League One in both of Moore's seasons in charge.
