Moore demands improved away form

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore is looking for an improvement in his side's away form next season.

Moore's current contract as manager is due to run out and he is not making any comment on his future at present.

Looking back on Rovers' frustrating season, he told BBC Radio Merseyside: "It's the away form that has cost us, and discipline has also cost us."

"We will always pick up points at home but we have to get away from being a soft touch away from home."

On the road, Tranmere picked up 23 points from a possible 75 (identical to their away record in 2006/07), scoring just 21 goals.

They were also reduced to 10 men in League One on six occasions.

Moore added: "You have to be superhuman to win games with 10 men now and we've had far too many this season."

Rovers ended the current League One campaign in 11th, 11 points behind Southend and Leeds in the final two play-off berths.
