Rebrov hits out at Hoddle
Sergei Rebrov
Rebrov does not feel Hoddle has faith in him

Sergei Rebrov has taken a swipe at the managerial style of Tottenham boss Glenn Hoddle.

Striker Rebrov is Spurs' record signing having been brought in by former boss George Graham for 11m in June 2000.

But he has fallen out of favour since Hoddle took over in April 2001 and is now desperate for a move to re-launch his career and find a coach who appreciates his ability.

"I want to move to a club where I feel like a player," Rebrov exclusively told BBC Sport Online.

I want to play football - That's all I want to do
Sergei Rebrov

"Somewhere where the manager wants to see me as part of his squad.

"I want to believe Hoddle has faith in me but sometimes it is hard.

"This is the most difficult situation of my football career.

"Always, where I have been I have I worked with a manager who believes in me and where it is easy to play.

"You don't think about your stupid mistakes.

Hoddle is looking for a new striker

"Sometimes everybody makes mistakes on the pitch but if the manager believes in you then you will feel this support.

"And, you will have more and more confidence on the pitch which makes it easy to play."

Rebrov scored in the pre-season friendly against Stevenage and came on as a substitute against Colchester.

But with Hoddle looking for a new striker and several regular first team players still to return, he is not hopeful of breaking into the Spurs team.

The Ukranian has vowed to try his best while he is at the club.

"I want to play football. That's all I want to do.

"Of course I will be playing here if it is difficult to find some club.

"I will be trying. That's my job. I have a contract with Tottenham and I can't leave even if I want to."
