Buckle's side have not conceded a goal in their last three games
Torquay United boss Paul Buckle has praised his players' form following Tuesday's 2-0 win away at Aldershot.
The victory was Torquay's third in four games, helping them move nine points and four places clear of relegation.
Buckle told BBC Radio Devon: "We're turning those nearlys into wins now, which is fantastic and at just the right time.
"We've been really close and this is something to work with as the players are now grasping the level."
Torquay have not always enjoyed such positive results this term, going 10 matches without a win shortly after Christmas, but Buckle said he always believed his players had the necessary quality to prosper in the Football League.
"It's been very difficult because I feel our performances have been good all season," he said. "But we've been very close and people like [Elliot] Benyon and [Scott] Rendell have now stepped up.
"People like [Mustapha] Carayol, you see a complete performance because he gives you the work rate and then we know what he can do going the other way."
Buckle's charges will be able to secure their League Two future for another season with a point away at Grimsby this Saturday.
But in keeping with the attacking football philosophy he has employed throughout the season, the Torquay boss wants to come away with all three points from Blundell Park.
Buckle said: "We've been positive all season, and we want to go there looking at ourselves, not looking at anybody else.
"We want to look at what we're going to do with and without the ball, and try and keep this feeling going because it certainly beats the negative Saturdays we've had when we've just been pipped at times."
