Torquay boss Paul Buckle urges his players to win ugly
Buckle has been manager at Torquay since 2007
Torquay United manager Paul Buckle has called on his players to start winning ugly as the battle to avoid relegation from League Two heats up.
The Gulls, who are only two places above the drop zone, have yet to secure their first win of 2010.
Buckle told BBC Devon: "The key now is to stick together and keep fighting.
"Now is the time to get results. It's not really about performances, it's time to get three points on the board," he added.
The Torquay boss admitted life in League Two has been a struggle, but said he did not expect anything less.
"It's been a tough season, a good learning curve for all and the key now is to stick together and keep fighting."
"I speak to mangers or coaches that have not played great and nicked it but I haven't seen us do that this year."
With limited finances at his disposal, Buckle warned that success at Plainmoor would not come overnight.
"I have to look at the bigger picture and we've got to understand where we are at Torquay.
"It does come down to what you're working with, of course it does - I'm working very hard to improve this squad and it's a big challenge, but it's one that I'm ready for."
