Swindon Town defender Sean Morrison says he is delighted to have the chance for an extended run in the first team.

The 19-year-old has become a regular for Danny Wilson's side playing in 16 of Swindon's 18 league games.

"I had a difficult season last year with Scott Cuthbert and Gordon Greer as there was no chance of me getting in," Morrison told BBC Wiltshire.

"So to get a run is brilliant for me and all I'm trying to do is the best I can in the back four."

Swindon have yet to find any consistency so far this season and are just above the relegation zone in League One.

But the young centre-half still believes they can turn their season around.

"We haven't quite got it all there yet but I know the gaffer and all the lads believe if we keep pushing we can get the consistency," said Morrison

"If the back four can start keeping clean sheets then Charlie [Austin], Vinnie [Vincent Pericard] and Bally [David Ball] will always score us goals."

Next up for Swindon on Saturday at the County Ground are Sheffield Wednesday, who were relegated from the Championship last season.

"It's Another massive club with Sheffield coming down and they've got some great players," added Morrison.

"We've got to take our win against Colchester and draw against Crawley and build our confidence and hopefully get a result."
