Thomas Dossevi chooses Swindon over Togo national side
Dossevi scored his first league goal at the County Ground on Saturday
Swindon striker Thomas Dossevi has turned down the chance to play for his native Togo as he bids to to keep his place in the Town side for the weekend.
Togo have an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad but the 31-year-old wants to concentrate on getting a start against Rochdale on Saturday.
"I need to play here and give my all for the team so my selection for Togo can wait," Dossevi told BBC Wiltshire.
Dossevi signed in August and scored his first home league goal on Saturday.
He added: "I don't think it's good for me to leave right now."
Meanwhile Swindon have confirmed that goalkeeper David Lucas has sustained muscle damage to his shoulder.
He picked up the problem in training last week which forced him to miss the weekend win over Colchester.
The club do not know yet how long Lucas will be on the sidelines for.
