Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has thanked the Togo FA for letting Thomas Dossevi to put club before country.

They have allowed the former Nantes forward to pull out of the Togo squad due to play Botswana this weekend.

"You have to thank the Togolese Football Federation because they can demand him to come," said Wilson.

"Even if he stayed, they can request he doesn't play against Carlisle and they haven't done that so we're hoping they understand Thomas' situation."

Dossevi requested to stay with Swindon and continue gaining experience in English football and his commitment hasn't gone unnoticed.

"Playing for you national team is a big pull for many players." said Wilson.

"It's a big pride and privilege to play for your country, but he's decided he wants to try and cement himself in the club here which is great."
