Swindon Town have signed striker Thomas Dossevi on a one-year deal with an option to extend by another 12 months.
The Togo international has been on trial at the County Ground and scored twice in Swindon's 3-2 friendly win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
Manager Danny Wilson told BBC Wiltshire: "I'm delighted as this week he has impressed everyone.
"He's shown that the experience he's had in the French leagues bodes well as he wasn't fazed by anything."
Wilson continued: "When you're playing against the quality of Forest and score the goals that he did, that's really the icing on the cake.
"And from where we're sat, we think he'll be a big help to us."
The 31-year-old striker, who was part of the Togo squad at the 2006 World Cup, was recently released by French club Nantes.
He has made nine appearances for Togo, scoring one goal.
Dossevi will wear the number 20 shirt vacated by Billy Paynter and will compete with Charlie Austin and Vincent Pericard for a place up front.
