Zola turns on style for Roberts

Former Swindon player Christian Roberts
Roberts scored 27 goals for Swindon in 145 games for the club

Former Swindon midfielder Christian Roberts described his testimonial against a Chelsea XI as "fantastic".

The visitors included former Town boss Dennis Wise, Gus Poyet, Graeme Le Saux and Gianfranco Zola in their ranks.

And it was West Ham manager Zola who stole the show with a hat-trick to earn a 3-2 win on a night which also raised money for Cancer Research.

Roberts, 28, also played for Cardiff, Exeter and Bristol City before being forced to retire due to a knee injury.

"I love Swindon Town. I've had some real darks days here, but I've had some real good days and today was all of it," he told BBC Radio Swindon.

"Dark in the minute's silence for my Dad which I knew was going to be tough, and enjoyment in smiling and the people around it. Gianfranco Zola showed how football should be played, with a smile on his face."
