Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson says Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town highlights the need to strengthen his squad.
The defeat leaves the Robins just two points above the relegation zone in League One.
Wilson told BBC Radio Swindon: "It doesn't have to be a big name, it might just be a new face that we need.
"They'll come into a team and to a club that they want to play well for and hopefully take us forward."
Wilson also added that the any new faces will come with the added advantage of not carrying the scars of Swindon's poor run of results.
The defeat at the Galpharm Stadium extended Town's woeful run to just one win in 13 games.
"They won't have the fear," said Wilson. "They won't have the fact that they've lost in certain games where certain situations develop.
"They'll be on the front foot and they'll be bright and breezy."
