Danny Wilson answered questions on a fan's 'phone in
Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has said he is hopeful there will be two new arrivals at the County Ground.
But the Robins boss has also confirmed he missed out on one player because he did not want to re-locate to Wiltshire.
He told BBC Radio Swindon's fans' phone-in: "The player we had in mind was moving a fair distance, he decided to stay in the area where he is.
"We're close to a couple of players and we're hoping to get them down the final furlong, we're hoping it will happen."
Wilson added: "We need some players in. The players that are down the list are not necessarily first, second or third choice, we'll be in the hunt for them."
The former Huddersfield boss also said he has not received any bids from other clubs for any of his players.
Newspaper reports had linked top-scorer Simon Cox with a move away from the County Ground but Wilson dismissed it as speculation.
"There's nothing concrete, we've had no phone calls."
