Swansea City defender Kevin Amankwaah has become Swindon Town's first summer signing after agreeing a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old right-back completed his free transfer to the County Ground after passing a medical.
Amankwaah joined the Swans from Yeovil in July 2006 but did not make a single league appearance last season as the Welsh side won the League One title.
"Every player gets a blip in their career and I hope I can find my best form again at Swindon," he said.
"My first team chances were limited last season and I didn't want the same thing to happen again next season.
"I could have sat in the stand and just picked up my wages, but I want to play football.
"I came to Swansea looking to play, but although I made quite a few appearances in my first season it just hasn't worked out.
"I feel I am going to a good club. They are looking to build something special there and hopefully I can play a big part.''
Amankwaah 29 league appearances in his first full season under former boss Kenny Jackett who splashed out 250,000 for the defender.
But last year was a spectator last year under Roberto Martinez.
He failed to make a league appearance and was restricted to four games in the FA Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Swindon made recruiting a new right-back a priority after Miguel Comminges turned down the offer of a new deal at the end of last season.
