Turner has seen Sunderland slip down the table after a bright start
Sunderland defender Michael Turner is adamant the squad is focused and united in their attempts to lift the club clear of danger in the Premier League.
The Wearsiders continue to chase a first win in the league since October and are currently just three points off the relegation zone.
"No-one's dropped their heads, we're all working hard and sticking together," Turner told BBC Newcastle.
"We need to stay behind each other 100% and results will come."
Sunderland's predicament echoes that of Turner's former club Hull City last season - with Steve Bruce's side embroiled in a relegation scrap despite making a promising start.
And the 26-year-old centre-half, who helped Hull to safety, admitted a return to form will be difficult, but certainly not impossible.
"It's very similar, we started very well last year but then got into a massive rut and couldn't get out of it," he said.
"It's difficult, players are low on confidence at times, and we just need to find a win to get that back.
"We can take some positives from the last five games, we've only lost one, and that's a big positive."
Turner joined Sunderland from Hull City in August 2009 for an undisclosed fee.
