Turner joined Sunderland from Hull City for an undisclosed fee
Sunderland defender Michael Turner is confident that the form of striker Darren Bent could hand an England chance to other members of the squad.
Bent's displays for the Black Cats has attracted the interest of England boss Fabio Capello and Turner believes other players could impress the Italian.
"Bent's been scoring for fun up top and people will be coming to watch him," he told BBC Newcastle.
"They might be pleasantly surprised by others in the team."
Turner joined Sunderland from Premier League rivals Hull City during the August transfer window for an undisclosed fee after an impressive first season in the top flight with the Tigers.
Since making the switch the Lewisham-born centre-half has been an ever present, making five appearances and scoring once against Wolves in a 5-2 win.
