Wilkinson became a regular in the Stoke first team last season
Stoke City right-back Andy Wilkinson says he has been frustrated after losing his first-team place to recent signing Robert Huth.
Wilkinson started the first five Premier League games of the season.
"People are saying that I've done well, but Robert's a quality player and he has played at the highest level," the 25-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke.
"He's a top man and he's a great player, but I'll be doing all that I can to get my place back off him."
The Stone-born defender continued: "It's definitely frustrating for me. You've just to keep your head up and show the gaffer that you're knocking on his door.
"I've just got to keep a good attitude and take my chance when it comes."
Huth signed for Stoke from Middlesbrough in August for £5m, and scored his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw against Everton on 4 October.
Wilkinson, who has made a total of 48 league starts for the Potters, forced his way into the starting line-up at the expense of club captain Andy Griffin midway through Stoke's first season in the Premier League.
