Stoke not panicking - Whitehead

Stoke City midfielder Dean Whitehead is unconcerned that the Potters have taken just one point from their last three Premier League matches.

The Potters have lost to the top two - Chelsea and Manchester United - at the Britannia Stadium, and were denied a win at Bolton by a late penalty.

"I think we've had a pretty steady start," Whitehead told BBC Radio Stoke.

"We've played three of the top four so far, but we still feel we should have one or two more points on the board."

Stoke have taken eight points from their first seven Premier League matches, including home victories over Burnley and Sunderland, and Whitehead has targeted the Potters' next two matches as an opportunity to get their season back on track.

"We go away to Everton next and then we're at home to West Ham, so we're starting to play teams that we should be beating," added the former Sunderland midfielder.

"We know what Everton are like. They're a strong side, they're hard working, they've got good players and it's going to be a tough game for us."
