Striker Ricardo Fuller will be fully fit and at his best when Stoke kick off the season against Burnley on 15 August, according to boss Tony Pulis.
Fuller spent a month of the summer on international duty with Jamaica.
"He's ready to go, but Ric is one of those players that will play the game to get through it," the Stoke manager told BBC Radio Stoke.
"By the time we start the season and we play that game against Burnley, he'll be up and ready to go."
Fuller scored 11 goals last season and finished as the top scorer in the Potters' first ever campaign in the Premier League.
