Former Walsall head of youth football Mick Halsall is set to be appointed as the new director of Stoke's academy.
Halsall left the Banks's Stadium earlier this month and will fill the void left when George Foster left to join Glenn Hoddle's Soccer School.
Chairman Peter Coates told BBC Radio Stoke: "Hopefully it will be sorted out fairly soon.
"I don't think the academy has been as successful as I would have liked and we're searching for the right formula."
