Ablett is taking over his first senior managerial role
New Stockport boss Gary Ablett has said he needs more pre-season matches to prepare the squad for the season.
Stockport start the League One campaign at Oldham on 8 August, giving Ablett merely four weeks preparation.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: "I'll be looking to use contacts and stuff in terms of arranging training games and stuff like that.
"I need to find out about the players and ultimately the players will need to find out about me."
"I'm not a fool, I know we've got a lot of catching up to do in terms of our work in pre-season; the four games we have in the four weeks we have left before the start of the season to me is not enough through no fault of anyone's, just with us going into administration and stuff," he added.
"The only kind of pressure I feel will be the pressure I put on myself because I'm highly motivated, I'm very ambitious, I want to do well, I want to do well for Stockport County and, if I can achieve all that, then I think the club will go places."
The former Liverpool reserve-team coach was named as Jim Gannon's replacement on Wednesday.
