| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 10:47 GMT Elding off to Boro Boston United striker Anthony Elding has returned to the Nationwide Conference to join Stevenage Borough. Elding is the latest addition to the Graham Westley revolution at Broadhall Way after signing an 18-month deal on a free transfer. The 20-year-old helped Boston win the Conference title last season and had trial spells at Tottenham and Middlesbrough. However, Elding has been unable to command a regular first-team place at York Street this term. He made just three Third Division starts and ends a loan spell at Gainsborough Trinity to join Stevenage. He becomes the eighth player signed by Westley since he took charge at struggling Stevenage at the start of the month and is likely to figure against Telford on Saturday. Stevenage are also in talks with Leigh RMI striker Dino Maamria after agreeing a fee for the 28-year-old former Doncaster and Southport striker, who has scored 13 goals this season. Leaving Boro is midfielder Matt Fisher, who has joined Dr Martens League leaders Tamworth. Meanwhile, Boston have signed striker Liam George on a non-contract basis. The former Luton Town striker, who left Bury last month, has been added to United's squad for the match at Exeter on Saturday. Boston manager Neil Thompson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "With six players injured or suspended I was keen to stregthen my squad for the match at Exeter." |
