Southend United manager Paul Sturrock believes his side are struggling with nerves when playing at Roots Hall.
The Shrimpers were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Accrington Stanley in League Two on Saturday.
Sturrock told BBC Essex: "There's a nervousness in this squad of players that's been brought forward by the results we've had here.
"There's also a nervousness in the crowd which obviously seeps onto the football pitch."
Southend have won three out of eight League Two matches at home this season, scoring just nine times, and Sturrock wants that to improve.
"How you get to the end of it is by working even harder and keeping the shape of the team as long as possible," he added.
