Southend defender Johnny Herd says they must improve their home form if they are to climb the League Two table.
The Blues have lost three of six league matches at Roots Hall this season and are 17th after two successive losses.
Herd, who made his first start of the season against Crewe at the weekend, told BBC Essex: "It's the home form that we are struggling with.
"We've all had a big chat and hopefully we can go out in the next home game and get the right result and performance."
Herd said the whole team sat and dissected the weekend's defeat by Crewe.
"We should really keep it to ourselves, what was said, most of the experienced guys have spoken up about the performance and how training's been going, its not good at the moment," he said.
