Four Shrewsbury Town players raised more than £2,000 for a children's hospice after completing the Three Peaks mountain challenge.

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff, Nicky Wroe, Kevin McIntyre and Dave Raven climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

"It was really windy. Sometimes you lost your footing or couldn't raise your head, but that made it more worthwhile," said Cansdell-Sherriff.

The four have so far raised more than £2,200, for Hope House Hospice.

Sponsorship money is still coming in.

"The weather was so bad on top of Ben Nevis and Snowdon that we could hardly see anything, but the whole trip was a really good experience," Cansdell-Sherriff told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We really pushed ourselves and all felt we'd achieved something."
