Shrewsbury Town players face the Three Peaks Challenge
The players launch their fundraiser after Saturday's game with Stockport
Four Shrewsbury Town players have set themselves the target of climbing the tallest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales at the end of the season.
Nicky Wroe, Kevin McIntyre, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and Dave Raven have joined the Three Peaks Challenge.
They will tackle Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in Cumbria and Snowdon in Wales over three days in May.
"It'll be tough but it's good for team morale, and I jumped at the chance," Wroe told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Our preparations mean a different type of fitness from our normal training, but I'm sure we'll enjoy it and I'm really looking forward to it.
"I do some hiking, and when I was young I was a bit of an outward bounder - but we'll be taking plenty of plasters in case we get blisters."
The event is part of Shrewsbury's local community programme and the four are aiming to raise over £2,000 for the Hope House Children's Hospice - one of the club's favoured charities.
The mountain challenge starts on 24 May and will be completed within three days.
