Bradshaw (l) and Hibbert played together three times
Shrewsbury striker Tom Bradshaw has praised last season's top scorer Dave Hibbert for mentoring him.
Bradshaw, 18, scored three times for Town last April and May, and is now a first-year professional making his Wales Under-19 debut this week.
"Hibbo gave me advice and helped boost my confidence, and was a nice mentor," Bradshaw told BBC Radio Shropshire.
Hibbert was Shrewsbury's top scorer for the last two seasons, before signing for Peterborough in the summer.
"I learnt a lot from Dave, he guided me through my time as a scholar, and taught me about holding up play and things like that," Bradshaw added.
"I'd like to thank him a lot for last season."
Bradshaw scored twice on a spectacular Shrewsbury debut at Crewe last April when he was still 17, and then added a third at home to Morecambe the following month.
Now his talents have been recognised internationally by Wales, and he scored on his debut for the Under-19s in Liechtenstein to earn positive reviews from the Welsh manager Brian Flynn.
Hibbert's departure from Shrewsbury has failed to dampen Bradshaw's enthusiasm and ambition. "Now I'm a pro I've got to make my own way - but there's a good bunch of lads at Shrewsbury and it's brilliant to be part of the first-team squad," he said.
