Shrewsbury Town beat Rushden to progress into semis

Shrewsbury Town moved into the last four of the South West Cup with a 1-0 win over Rushden and are now eyeing a potential final against Blackpool.

Substitute Tom Bradshaw scored a late winner after replacing Matt Harrold, who needed stitches to a cut head.

Boss Graham Turner said: "Matt should be back to play in the friendly with Coventry next week."

The Shrews face Havant & Waterlooville in the semi-finals while Blackpool take on Leyton Orient.

Bradshaw's winner came in the 88th minute when he charged down a Rushden clearance and it rebounded into the net.

"Tom might've been a bit fluky for the goal, but he genuinely went in there to close the lad down. Things happen when he's about," Turner added.
