Bickerton had set Shrewsbury a target of reaching the Championship

Shrewsbury Town managing director Rob Bickerton has left the club with immediate effect.

Bickerton joined the club in January 2008 after leaving League Two rivals Macclesfield Town.

Shrews chairman Roland Wycherley told the club website: "Rob has left by mutual agreement and we will not be making further comment.

"The board will take this opportunity to conduct a thorough review of all off-pitch operations and staffing."

"I have asked the club director Derek Passant and former chief executive Steve Wellbeloved to conduct this review and report back to me and they will start work on this immediately."
